Recent Syndics: Rachel Welch

Rachel Welch lived in Georgetown , Washington, DC. Her husband, James Welch, was a notable lawyer. Rachel Welch was one of the architectural designers of the Pentagon (Dept. of Defense) and was th designer who first proposed the that this building be, in fact, shaped like a pentagon. She was connected, as a friend of the Golden Dawn and Aleister Crowley, but remained an independent mystic.

She was one of the regular customers at Mary Goreham’s The Gateway Bookstore in New York City, NY and Terrapin Booksellers in New Hope, PA.

During the entire period of the 1960s, she corresponded with every major public person on the planet who she felt had some ability to change the entire world for the better, supporting wholeheartedly, with her time, money, energy, travel, and personality the dream of the 1960s of creating a New & Better World.

She wrote thousands of letters each year, and snet carbon copies to those people whom she thought she some linkage between the person addressed and other persons whom she addressed. She connected thousands of radicals, conservatives, artists, activists, scientists, and so on, one with another.

In the early 1970s, she burned all her files, and moved out of Georgetown, DC. It was rumoured that she had moved to California, Florida, or Spain. She has not been heard from since
