Claude-Louis, Comte de Saint- Germain

(1680's? - February 27, 1784?)

The Count Saint Germain is legenday and most of what has been wrtitten about him is trash. The landmark book by Isabel Cooper-Oakley is the only really serious investigation currently in print.

The Le Comte de Saint-Germain was a military officer, scholar, and mystic. The extent of his knowledge is not known. What is known and i backed up by documented proof is that he was the personal advisor to King Louis XV of France, King Christian VII of Denmark, and Russian Rulers Anna I, Ivan IV, and Elizabeth I.

He was also connected to British faction led by Frederick Prince of Wales. It is known that he was a secret agent carrying messages between a number of countries.

Saint-Germain was in India where he tried to start the use of diamonds as a basis for exchange rates of various European monies. He secretly invested in various tile and pottery works in the Netherlands, and was either a major player or The major player, in the beginning of the textile industries.

Further he was connected with the DuPont family, and was on close terms with Casanova, who downplayed this , because, he too, was an international spy.

Also, Saint Germain was a knowledgeable musician and wrote an opera, whose title in english is "The Inconstant Delusion".

His last known meeting was with Queen aArie Antoinette, begging them to leave Paris. This meeting took place in 1783.
